Powd er Coating
Pirie Powder Coating and Fences also specialise in powder coating, and a variety of colours is available using Australian made Interpon powder. We have 95% of colorbond colours and 30 various colours from creams through to blacks.
Oven measurements are as followed: Maximum length is 7.2m, maximum width is 2.4, and maximum height is 2.4 for materials being powder coated at location. Anything greater then these dimensions cannot be done, or must be disassembled.
Certain issues are needed to be taken into account before power coating can be proceeded as certain materials cannot be powder coated ( i.e plastic, polyester) and special treatement may needed to be applied (i.e sandblasted metal needs a coat of zinc to prevent internal rust, or chromed metals need to be sand blasted).
Sand Blasting
Sand blasting is a method that is used to 'clean' the materials being powder coated, in some situations it is necessary to have old matter removed from the material, thus striping it down to its raw stage ready to be powder coated. Anything that has been sand blasted needs to be zinced before powder coating which takes more time and is more costly, but is needed to be done to ensure the life time of the powder coating, so internal rust does not occur.
